Repossessions on the rise
Court figures show the number of mortgage repossession orders in England and Wales are at their highest number in five years.
The BBC found mortgage repossession orders in England and Wales reached 10,853 in 2024-25*. This was their highest number in five years.
Unfortunately, this is not a surprise to us at Leka Solicitors. Every day we have people calling us and sharing their stories. Issues with soaring interest rates, Covid-19’s impact on people’s businesses and the general cost of living crisis are all factors.
